History
A 47 -year-old female with non-small cell lung cancer.
A PET scan was ordered to evaluate for distant metastases.
Original Diagnosis
The CT scan showed large spiculated lesions in the left
upper lobe and right lobe of lungs.
PET Findings
The whole-body FDG PET Scan confirmed the two
lesions that were seen on the CT scan. There were
no reported distant lesions.
Treatment
Based on the findings of the PET and CT scans
the patient will undergo chemotherapy
and radiation to treat the disease.
The patient will also have follow-up PET scans
to monitor the response to therapy and to
further evaluate for distant metastases.
